Council Supports Kali Baru and Bahtera Jaya Piers Revitalization

City Council Commission B supports pier revitalization not only focused on Muara Angke but also another pier which has tourism potential such as Bahtera Jaya Pier in Ancol area and Kali Baru Pier in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

There is also Bahtera Jaya Pier which water is deep and has wide area

"There is also Bahtera Jaya Pier which water is deep and has wide area," said H. Syariffudin, Member of City Council's Commission B, Tuesday (5/9).

He added, besides Bahtera Jaya, there is Kali Baru Pier which also potential to be managed. Moreover, there are several government assets in there.

Revitalization of Muara Angke Pier Asked to Be Realized Soon

"It will be good if we can repair our asset in there. It can be built a public space and park. Later we could plaster it again to repair the marine section," he added.

According to Syariffudin, if those piers could be revitalized, citizen will have another alternative to enjoy another beach beside Ancol.

"So citizen can go there for free. That is what we want," he stated.

Meanwhile, City Council Commission B member, Prabowo Soenirman considers, pier revitalization in City is an urgent needs since Jakarta Provincial Government committed to make Seribu Islands as international tourism destination.

"How can we develop tourIsm aspect if we do not have any good pier? Thus it needs to be repaired," he closed.
